WOODBURY — A 26-year-old Berlin man faces consecutive sentences totaling eight years in state prison after pleading guilty to possessing more than an ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a handgun during the commission of a narcotics crime on June 21, 2013 in Glassboro.

Byron A. Sills pleaded to the charges on Monday, Dec, 22. Sentencing is scheduled for March 25.

As part of a plea agreement, it will be recommended that Sills serve three years for the marijuana crime and, consecutive to that, five years for the weapons offense, with the requirement that he serve three years before he’s eligible for parole.

The pot and a Ruger .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun were found during vehicle stop in Glassboro.
