WOODBURY — A Paulsboro man was sentenced to five years in state prison Friday after pleading guilty to making terroristic threats against his wife on Feb. 8, when they lived in Woolwich Township.

In sentencing Eddie Ficara, 53, Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith ordered that Ficara not be eligible for parole until after he has served one year of the sentence.

Ficara entered his guilty plea on Dec. 1. He has been free on $75,000 bail since his arrest the day of the incident, authorities said. A restraining order has barred him from contact with his wife.

He was accused of pointing a handgun at her and demanding her to apologize and beg for forgiveness, said authorities.
