WASHINGTON TWP. — Two people were injured in a crash at the intersection of Hurffville-Cross Keys  Road and Kings Way East Saturday afternoon.

A 2001 Hyundai Sonata headed south on Hurffville-Cross Keys Roadat abut 12:23 p.m crossed over the double yellow lines to the left, into the northbound lane, police said.

At the same time, a 2010 Ford Explorer traveling north tried to move to the left to avoid the Hyundai, but the Hyundai’s passenger side front bumper and quarter panel made contact with the Explorer, said police. As a result of the impact, the Explorer rotated clockwise and came to rest partly off the road, police said.

The Hyundai rotated clockwise and moved forward into the Explorer’s front end, said police.

The driver of the Hyundai shifted into reverse and accelerated the car off the road into a fence, police said.

Both drivers were transported to Kennedy University Hospital by way of Washington Township Ambulance. No information about their injuries was available.
Hurffville-Cross Keys Road remained closed for about two hours.
The crash is being investigated.
