WASHINGTON TWP. — A 57-year-old Salina Road man was arrested March 10 in connection with the theft of a cash register from a pizza shop four days earlier.

On March 6, someone forced his way into the rear of Croce Pizza, in the 100 block of Fries Mill Road, police said. The man stole the business’ cash register and fled, said police.

Thanks to physical evidence gathered at the scene, patrol and investigative officers identified Joseph Elder as the suspect, police said.

Elder was arrested March 10 without incident by police and members of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Investigations Unit, said police.

Elder was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief and committed to the Salem County Jail in default of $25,000 full-cash bail, police said.
