PITMAN — The Pitman police department will host its first fishing tournament at Alcyon Lake on May 2.

The entry fee of $5 per person includes a Pitman police department fishing towel, hot dog and soda. The tournament is for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Trophies will be awarded to the first and second place winners for the biggest catch in three divisions and to the biggest catch of the day.

A limited number of fishing rods will be available, but entrants are encouraged to bring their own rods, bait and fishing gear.

Entry fees must be cash or checks made payable to the Borough of Pitman K-9 Dog Trust Fund. Registration for the tournament will be:
— Saturday, April 18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alcyon Lake Park
— Tuesday, April 21, 6 to 8 p.m., at Borough Hall
— Saturday, April 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alcyon Lake Park

Ptl. E.J. Parker and K-9 Ranger will be at the tournament and will do a small K-9 demonstration.

A limited number of tournament T-shirts will be given away on the day of the event, which runs from 9 a.m. util 12 noon.
