HARRISON TWP. — At 5:46 p.m. on Friday, June 5, Harrison Township Police were dispatched to the Fulton Bank at 153 Bridgeton Pike for a report of an armed robbery.

A white male approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall and of average build, wearing a black hat, white long-sleeved shirt, and black pants and sun glasses entered the front door of the bank, police said.

The robber brandished a black, semi-automatic handgun and repeatedly demanded large bills, said police. Three female bank employees were the only subjects in the bank at the time of the incident.

The gunman left with an unknown amount of money in a gray shopping bag, said police. He was in the bank for approximately two minutes and fled on foot north bound after exiting through the front door.

A Pitman police department K-9 unit responded to the scene and followed a scent to the area of 171 Bridgeton Pike where the scent was subsequently lost. Units from West Deptford Police, the FBI Cherry Hill division, and the Gloucester County Prosecutors Office Crime Scene Unit assisted at the scene.

The investigation is being handled by Sgt. David Marro and Ptl. Jon Thompson. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Marro at 856-478-9839.

Police said this holdup appears to be related to an earlier robbery in West Deptford. On June 2, the Cornerstone Bank on Route 45 at Hessian Avenue was held up, police said.
