GLASSBORO — Gloucester County Freeholder Adam Taliaferro will address Rowan University students and faculty Tuesday, Oct. 28, for Disability Awareness Week.

Taliaferro was paralyzed while making a tackle for Penn State during a game at Ohio State in 2000.

After spinal fusion surgery and months of rehabilitation, Taliaferro walked out of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia.

Rowan’s week of programming and events will focus on the importance of the need for students, with or without disabilities, to take care of their health, mental health and well being during their college careers.

The programs offered to Rowan students include Counseling Psychological Services, Disability Resources, Stress and Anxiety workshops and Rec Center classes.

Taliaferro will speak at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 in the Pit at the Chamberlain Student Center on the Glassboro campus.
