PAULSBORO — Two people have been charged in connection with the May 18, 2014 robbery of brother and sister twins in Paulsboro.
Anthony D. Young Jr., 33, of Gibbstown, and Christine E. Demore, 30, of Paulsboro, allegedly conspired with another man to rob the twins, authorities said.
The twins, Robert W. Springer and Jessica N. Springer, 26, of Washington Township, have been charged in connection with the death of the man Young and Demore allegedly conspired with, said authorities.
That man, Eddie Lee Warthen 4th, 41, of Gibbstown, was struck twice by a motor vehicle on May 18 on East Madison Street and was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital, Camden, authorities said.
Robert Springer allegedly drove the car that hit Warthen. He has been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution, said authorities.
Jessica Springer was charged with tampering with evidence and hindering. Both remain in jail in default of unspecified bail, authorities said.
Young and Demore allegedly conspired with Warthen to commit “an overt act, specifically by participating in the robbery” of the twins, according to the complaint. They were also charged with committing robbery while armed with a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun.
Young posted $150,000 bail and was released from jail.
Demore remained in jail in default of $250,000 bail.
