— A South Carolina man allegedly threatened an acquaintance with a handgun during an argument over missing items on Oct. 2 in the 400 block of Heron Drive. The 59-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of hollow point bullets, police said. A Bryco 9,, pistol was recovered. He was committed to the Salem County Jail in default of $30,000 full cash bail.

— A 14-year-old boy was charged Sept. 28 with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass in connection with a residential burglary in the Hampton Ridge development. He was processed and released, pending court. Several stolen items have been returned to their owner.

— On Sept. 29, officers responded to a Sharptown Road business to help escort off the property a man who had been fired and was agitated and destroying company property, police said. No charges were filed.

— On Sept. 30, a 14-year-old boy was charged with stealing a bicycle,e valued at $150, from the Logan Library. He was processed and released. The bike has not bee recovered.

— A 25-year-old Bridgeton man was charged with theft following a suspicious-activity complaint in the Greenfields development on Oct. 2. He allegedly stole several contractor signs for their scrap value. He was served with a complaint and released.

— A 14-year-old was charged with shoplifting from the Wawa  Food Market on Center Square Road on Oct. 2. He was processed and released.

— A Village Center Drive business was defrauded out of $850 Oct. 3 in a “Green Dot MoneyPak” scam in which a caller, pretending to be from Atlantic City Electric, threatened the termination of electric service if immediate payment was not made. Police advise that, if you receive a call from someone claiming to be from ACE and you are suspicious, hang up and call Atlantic City Electric at 1-800-642-3780 to verify. Never respond to threats or intimidation, as legitimate companies do no use those tactics.

— On Oct. 3, police investigated an alleged assault at the Bridgeport Speedway, in which a driver said he was confronted by an unidentified male who stated an a regiment over conduct on the track.The accused spit in the driver’s face, then fled.

— On Oct. 4, a Salem woman  reported that someone slashed the tires on her 2001 Oldsmobile while she was working on Technology Drive.

— A box trailer owned by a Leesport, Pa. company was stolen from a warehouse on Commerce Boulevard sometime before Oct. 4. The orange, 2000  WANC swing-door trailer, valued at $8,000, contained $4,000 worth of finished wooden pallets.

—Investigating a suspicious person complaint on Oct. 5 on Commerce Boulevard, officers had to restrain a 28-year-old Philadelphia man who was acting irrationally and confrontational, and was slipping in and out of consciousness. The mad admitted he’d ingested marijuana laced with PCP. He was transported to Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury for treatments. Complaints are pending.

— A 57-year-old township man was charged Oct. 5 with simple assault following a disturbance on Main Street. He was lodged in the Salem County Jail for a probation violation.

— A 64-year-old Logan man was charged Oct. 7 with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and terroristic threats after a dispute in the Logan Woods development. Bail has been set at $10,000 full cash, but the man has not yet been arrested.
