MONROE TWP. — The Monroe Township police department on Thursday was unanimously approved for accreditation by the state Association of Chiefs of Police.
Chief John McKeown and Capt. Stephen Farrell, who served as accreditation manager, reported that the commission held an on-site review and policy assessment in June.


The approval means the department is now an accredited law enforcement agency
Today, Chief John McKeown and Captain Stephen Farrell reported to the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Accreditation Commission, in South Brunswick NJ. The Commission conducted a review of the Assessment Report that was prepared by the assessors after our June on-site inspection and policy assessment.
Monroe Township Police Department was unanimously approved by the Commission and is now a state Accredited Law Enforcement Agency, having completed upgrades to the department’s policies.

Officer Derrick Jacobus was assistant accreditation manager for the project.
