WOODBURY — A 45-year-old Clayton man pleaded guilty Tuesday, Oct. 21 to a charge he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in 2013.
Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Margaret Cipparrone, in a negotiated plea, will recommend that Damon Bradley be sentenced to six years in New Jersey state prison and not be eligible for parole for 85 percent of the prison term.
Bradley will also be subject to registration requirements of Megan’s Law for sex offenders and at least 15 years of supervision after release from prison.
Bradley has been jailed in default of $150,000 bail since his arrest on Oct. 4, 2013.
Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith accepted the plea and tentatively scheduled sentencing for 12/12/14 but noted Bradley must first be evaluated at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a facility for sex offenders in Avenel.
AP Cipparrone said the state would not object to Bradley’s sentence being served concurrently with any incarceration imposed in a pending Mercer County criminal case in which he is charged with violating a provision of Megan’s Law.
In his plea, Bradley said the Clayton offense occurred on or about Sept. 11, 2013 and involved the use of coercion.
