WOODBURY — Smoke detectors donated to the Gloucester County Fire Marshal’s Office are now available to county residents who need a new, working smoke detector.
The 250 smoke detectors were donated by Atlantic City Electric.
Deputy Freeholder Director Giuseppe “Joe” Chila, liaison for public safety, said the smoke detectors have a 10-year life span and batteries that can’t be removed and don’t need replacement.
“Often times, people will take the battery out of their smoke detectors and forget to replace it, but this will stop that from happening,” said Chila.
Anyone who is in need of smoke detector or has questions about fire safety should contact the Gloucester County Fire Marshall’s Office at 856-307-7100.
