FRANKLIN TWP. — A Franklin Township man was arrested on drug charges Tuesday when police busted a meth lab on Pennsylvania Avenue.
During the search of the residence in the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, officers allegedly fund a methamphetamine production set up, as well as small amounts of meth, police said.
Karl L. Deriuex Jr., 46, who had left the house before police arrived, was arrested at a home in Monroe Township.
He was charged with maintaining or operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility, distributing, dispensing or possessing CDS within 500 feet of a public park, causing or risking widespread injury or damage, possession of CDS not directly obtained from a practitioner, and unlawful possession of precursor with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
Deriuex was lodged in the Salem County Jail in default of $350,000 full-cash bail.
Assisting with the investigation was the NJ State Police Hazmat Unit, NJ State Police Trafficking South Unit, Gloucester County Hazmat Unit, Gloucester County EMS and the Janvier Fire Company.
