WOODBURY — During the end of this month, the focus will be on the War Between The States at the Woodbury Public Library.
On Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m., Dr. William Gillette will present “New Jersey Before the Civil War,” part of the library’s year-long exploration of the lessons of the war. The program will explain how the stage was set for New Jersey’s future involvement, or lack thereof.
On Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m., view “The Civil War: A Film by Ken Burns,” Part 1, with Dr. Diane Turner. Each episode is about an hour long and guided viewing will include a post-show discussion with Turner.
Both Civil War programs are free to the public and are funded by the Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
