MANTUA TWP. — On Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders will celebrate 46 area high school seniors who have chosen to enter the US Military after they graduate. The dinner program for the students and their families will be held at Bogey’s Club and Café at the Pitman Golf Course, 501
Pitman Road, Mantua.
Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, “This program will recognize the seniors for their courageous decision to serve our country and thank them during this graduation season. A lot of attention gets put on the students going off to college, so we wanted to make sure we properly send-off the students who chose to defend America and the world as they finish their high school careers.”
The students will be paired and seated with veterans from the community and during the dinner ceremony each student will receive an award from a representative of their branch of the military.
Featured speakers include Sgt. Major Terry Harrelson,USMC, and Lt. Col. Bradd Thompson, USAF/NJ Air National Guard.
Presentation of the 2015 Awards will be presented by Capt. George Riley, US Army; GySgt Nelson Escobar, USMC; Comm. Mike Johnson, US Navy; Tech Sgt. Waylon Hobbs, US Air Force.
