WOODBURY — Charles J. Ware, 20, of Deptford, pleaded guilty May 21 to engaging in oral sex with a girl under 13 in Mantua Township in September and October, 2013.
In the negotiated plea, Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Bryant Flowers will recommend Ware be sentenced to seven years in state prison. Under the state’s No Early Release law, Ware will have to serve 85 percent of the sentence before he’s eligible for parole.
He will also be subject to the conditions of Meghan’s Law for sex offenders, and to parole supervision for at least 15 years once he is released.
Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith deferred sentencing until Ware is evaluated at the state’s Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a facility for sex offenders in Avenel. The evaluation can determine whether a defendant is treated at Avenel while serving a sentence.
Ware has been in jail in default of $150,000 bail since his arrest on Oct. 26, 2013.
