WENONAH — The Gloucester County Nature Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3 Lenape Trail, Wenonah, NJ, 08090. Lenape Trail is located just off of Mantua Avenue at Woodbury-Glassboro Road.

The program for October will be “The Pine Barrens: Up Close & Natural,” presented by Tom Dunn, of  The Pinelands Preservation Alliance.

Surrounded by more than 20 million people, the New Jersey Pine Barrens occupies nearly one million acres in one of the most developed areas of the world. The remarkable geology of the region has created a place that is unique on Earth. “The Pine Barrens: Up Close & Natural” is an exploration of the plants and animals that live in the extraordinary ecosystem of the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

This presentation will include the showing of the PPA’s nature film, “The Pine Barrens: Up Close & Natural.” The film is 30 minutes in length. Following the film, Tom will discuss the ecology of the region and efforts to protect its forests, streams and wetlands.
