WOODBURY — Christopher M. Long, 31, of Willingboro, has been arrested on charges of setting a fire in the Chestnut Lane Apartments on Delsea Drive in Deptford on 2/1/15 that reached three alarms and damaged 17 units.

Accompanied by his attorney, Long turned himself in at the Deptford Township police department on June 3 and was jailed in default of $150,000 bail.  The arresting officer was Deptford Detective Michael Pardini.  
 
Long is charged with aggravated arson “by starting a fire in the bedroom area of apartment 1405, causing widespread damage to over 10 apartments, causing more than $2,000 of damage,” according to the complaint against him.

He also is charged with criminal mischief; arson (recklessly placing a building or structure in danger of damage or destruction); arson (recklessly placing another person in danger of death or bodily injury); and causing widespread injury or damage.

Long had been living at Chestnut Lane at least part of the time with a girlfriend who was a tenant.

Assisting the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation and apprehension of Long were the Deptford Township police department, the Gloucester County Fire Marshal, the Deptford Township Fire Department and the United States Marshal’s Service.
