MONROE TWP. — Danny L. Davis, 29, of Williamstown, was arrested Nov. 5 on a failure-to-appear warrant in connection with robbery and related charges, authorities said.

Davis was taken into custody at the home of a relative in the 300 block of Kali Lane in Williamstown by members of the Fugitive Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, said authorities. He was held without bail.

Davis was charged with robbery, burglary, theft and aggravated assault in connection with a Feb. 9 incident in Williamstown, in which a man was choked and robbed, authorities said.

WOODBURY — Lot Webber, 45. of Mullica Hill, whose criminal history and driving record include many convictions, was denied a reduction in bail Friday, Nov. 7 on his latest drunk driving and narcotics arrest, authorities said.

Webber was seeking a reduction of his $10,000 bail. He was arrested Oct. 29 in Mantua. Police said he was driving while suspended and that they found six packets of cocaine in Webber's vehicle.

Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Vincent Malfitano said reducing the bail amount was not appropriate because of Webber’s history of 14 felony convictions and a driving record that is “replete with drunk driving.”

Weber had been sentenced to 18 months in state prison on Feb. 5, 2013 after pleading guilty to driving during a second or subsequent drunken-driving suspension, authorities said.

Webber’s bail was not reduced.

MANTUA TWP. — Mount Royal Road from Main Street to Route 45  and Harrison Avenue from Berkley Road to Route 45  are closed while repairs are done to a traffic signal control box.

The box, on the  northeast corner of the Route 45 and Mount Royal Road intersection, was damaged at about1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 when a driver, attempting to pass another vehicle on the right, ran into it, police said.

The roads will be reopened when state Department of Transportation workers have repaied the control box, said police.

WOODBURY — Dewaine Thornton, 55, of Deptford, was sentenced Friday, Nov. 7 to 13 years in a state prison for sexually assaulting a woman whose apartment he broke into in West Deptford on May 18, 1992.

Thornton pleaded guilty on Feb. 21 to the assault, after DNA from the victim’s rape examination kit was determined, in 2012, to be a match to Thornton, authorities said. His DNA had been obtained in connection with his conviction on a narcotics offense, said authorities. Those convicted of crimes in New Jersey must provide a DNA sample.

WOODBURY — A Gloucester County grand jury indicted the following people this week:

— Michael J. Whyte, 29, of Gloucester City, for attempted burglary on May 12 in West Deptford.

— Scott M. Rollins, 29, of West Deptford, for attempted burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance on May 12 in West Deptford.

— Julia A. Galindo, 35, of Turnersville, for possession of CDS in East Greenwich Township on July 30.

LOGAN TWP. — The police department has responded to numerous reports of vehicle burglaries in the past two weeks, with property being disturbed or stolen.

In every instance, police said, the vehicle was unlocked. Police remind residents to lock their car doors and never leave valuables in a vehicle.

The burglaries have been occurring overnight, predominantly in the Greenfields development. If you see something suspicious, report it by calling police dispatchers at 856-589-0911.

WASHINGTON TWP. — Police are looking for a man who robbed the Sun National Bank Thursday morning.

The man entered the bank at 4651 Route 42 at 9:47 a.m. Nov. 6 and gave a teller a note saying he had a gun and wanted money, police said.

The man was given an unspecified amount of cash and he fled in the direction of Fries Mill Road, said police.

The robber was described as a black male in his 20s, between 5’6” and 5’8” tall, wearing a black hat and a black, hooded garment, police said.

Township police are investigating, assisted by the FBI and the Crime Scene Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.

— A 30-year-old Deptford Township woman was charged with theft Nov. 3 following an investigation at a business in the 600 block of Heron Drive. She allegedly had credited her person credit card for returns during fraudulent transactions. She allegedly conducted 25 transaction, totaling $13,652. She was served with a complaint summons and released.

In other police reports:

— On Oct. 31, police investigated an attempted burglary on Nortonville Road after someone forced entry through a first-floor window. Nothing was taken.

GLASSBORO — Two people were arrested and pills and marijuana were seized when police executed a search warrant Thursday morning.

The warrant, obtained as the result of a month-long investigation, was served at 48 Williams St. at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 6, police said.

The police department’s Special Investigations Unit seized 48 suspected morphine pills, with a street value of $1,000, and less than 50 grams of marijuana, said police.
