WOODBURY — The Woman's Club of Woodbury is observing the 95th anniversary of its membership in the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs with headquarters in New Brunswick, which is part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs headquartered in Washington, D.C.
The club's mission is to provide opportunities for education, leadership training, and community service, enabling the members to make a difference in the lives of others one project at a time. The Woman's Club of Woodbury is proud of its long-standing tradition of awarding $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from both Woodbury and Deptford high schools.
As part of our observance of this 95th anniversary, the club will hold a wine tasting demonstration led by Richard Dann on Friday, Nov. 7, to which Woman's Club members from 30 other South Jersey communities have been invited.
A variety of wines will be sampled and described during this event, and tasty hors d'oeuvres will clean the palate between each sample. A strolling musician will add music to this affair.
The regular monthly business meeting of the Woman's Club of Woodbury will be held on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the Deptford Public Library, 670 Ward Drive, Deptford.
Light luncheon refreshments will be served by hostesses Sharon Hink and Bonnie Dann. Guest speaker will be Helen Antonucci, from Rowan College at Gloucester County, on the topic of the SHIP Program.
