DEPTFORD TWP. — A 31-year-old Deptford man was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a girl under 13 on various dates in 2014.

Following an investigation by the Major Crimes Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, Carlos Calderon, a restaurant worker from Guatemala, was arrested in Woodbury, authorities said. He was held in default of $800,000 bail.

The U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Service was notified, as was the Guatemala embassy in New York.

Calderon was charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of criminal sexual contact and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said.
