You can join members of the Gloucester County Nature Club in a tour of Beach Plum Farm in West Cape May this Sunday, Oct. 5.

You’ll visit the farm’s beautiful 62 acres and learn about sustainable farming on this private, guided tour.

More than 100 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown and hand picked at the farm, for sale at the farm stand or for delivery to the chefs of some well-known Cape May restaurants.

The tour is about an hour and the cost is $3 per person.

To car pool, meet at Timberline Shopping Center, 660 Woodbury-Glassboro Road, Sewell, 08080 at 8:15 a.m. You can also just meet at the farm, 140 Stevens St., West Cape May, NJ 08204, at 10 a.m.

October is great time to visit the Cape. Why not stay after the field trip and explore on your own? Visit Cape May State Park Hawk Watch, walk the beach, take a bike or trolley ride to see the beautiful homes, stroll the Washington Street Mall, or have lunch at one of the restaurants supplied from the farm. For those wishing to explore the area, local maps will be provided.
