DEPTFORD TWP. — Prospective students can learn more about Rowan College at Gloucester County during an open house Thursday, Oct. 16.

More than three months ago, the county college joined with Rowan University.

“Students looking to pursue college studies should come to RCGC and explore the College’s 70 academic programs as well as the Dual Advantage and transfer program offerings,” said Gloucester County Freeholder Lyman Barnes, the board’s liaison to the college.

During the open house — 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the College Center — visitors can meet faculty, financial-aid representatives and admissions personnel.

Prospective students can also learn about RCGC’s easily transferable Associate’s degrees, as well as career-oriented credentials, Barnes said.

Seven academic divisions make up the college: Business Studies; Health, Physical Education and Recreation; Liberal Arts; Law and Justice; Nursing and Allied Health; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; and Continuing Education.

“At a cost of approximately $4,000 a year, students pay less for two years of study at RCGC than for one year at a NJ public four0year university,” said Barnes.

This year’s event is held in conjunction with the Gloucester County Professional Counselors’ Association College Fair, which takes place in the RCGC Physical Education Center.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located at 1400 Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
