WOODBURY — A West Deptford man charged with the murder of a 50-year-old woman in March has had his request for lower bail denied a second time.
Rocco L. Carsillo, 56, allegedly stabbed Margarate Ann DePietro to death in her West Deptford home on March 5, authorities said.
Carsillo sought a reduction of his $500,000 bail on April 11 when a prosecutor said he had no job and no address — he’d been living with the victim — and was facing a first-degree crime, said authorities.
This time, Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Margaret Cipparrone said lab reports and investigative reports have presented circumstantial evidence that is “overwhelming.”
The case is expected to be presented to a grand jury within a month.
Carsillo was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, robbery and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
DePietro, who died of multiple stab wounds, was found by a relative and a friend after she failed to answer her telephone.
Carsillo, who had a relationship with the victim dating back to 2003, including a history of domestic violence, was arrested two days layer in Winslow Township, authorities said.
