DEPTFORD TWP. — The Southern New Jersey Freeholders’ Association (SNJFA) held its Annual Reorganization Meeting at Filomena’s Lakeview Restaurant on Feb. 9. During the meeting, the 2015 Officers were sworn in by State Senate President Stephen Sweeney.
The 2015 Officers of the Southern New Jersey Freeholders’ Association are Gloucester County Freeholder Deputy Director Joe Chila (D), president; Salem County Freeholder Robert J. Vanderslice (R), vice president; Cumberland County Freeholder Director Joe Derella (D), secretary; and Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton (R), treasurer. Also, Cape May County Vice-Director Leonard C. Desiderio is the immediate past president and Lenora Boninfante, public information officer is the recording secretary for the organization.
The eight member counties that make up the association, whose main purpose is to foster the sharing of ideas, programs and joint ventures between the counties, are Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and Salem.
Currently, the member counties pay no dues to participate in the association.
Meetings are held eight times a year with the next meeting taking place on March 23 in Salem County.
