FRANKLIN TWP. — Police are looking for a 68-year-old Catawba Avenue man who has been missing for 12 days.

Franklin Township police were notified around noon on Saturday, Jan. 17 that Richard M. Souza had left his home at about 12:30 p.m. Jan. 5 and had not been seen since, police said.

Souza, recently diagnosed with dementia, was driving a maroon 2013 Kia Sorento with New Jersey registration R72BTN, said police.

He weighs 140 pounds, is 5’6” tall and has black hair.

Anyone with information about Souza’s whereabouts is asked to contact Ptl. Anthony Rojas at 856-694-1414.

WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — As a result of an investigation by the High-Tech Crimes Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office,  a West Deptford man was arrested Friday on child pornography charges.

A search warrant was executed at the Page Street home of David J. Thomas, 29, authorities said.

Thomas was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography. He was jailed in default of $75,000 bail.

WOODBURY — Barbara A. Poteat-Gill, 40, of Sicklerville, who’s accused to stealing a prosecutor’s purse when she was being sentenced for another theft, won’t be getting a  reduction in her bail.

On Friday, Jan. 16, her lawyer pleaded that Poteat-Gill has two children and “strong ties” to the community and has never failed to appear for court, authorities said. The request was to cut her 10 percent of $10,000 bail in half.

Assistant Prosecutor Dana Anton said the defendant had just received probation on Dec. 19 for theft — then stole a purse belonging to another prosecutor in the Gloucester County Justice Complex and used a credit card from the purse at a coffee shop.

The current bail is “incredibly low,” said Anton, who added higher bail may be sought.

The earlier charge, for which Poteat-Gill received probation, involved her selling another person’s truck by forging the owner’s name on a motor vehicle title on March 29, 2013.

MONROE TWP. — The second man who escaped Jan. 11 from the Kintock Halfway House/Southwoods State Prison was arrested Friday afternoon.

Police were notified that Jacob E. Brown, 35, of Pennsville,  had been in the area and K-9 Ptl. Tom Pacilio was able to broadcast a concise description of the vehicle Brown was a passenger in, and a possible destination, police said.

Traffic Safety Ptl. Andy Pease located the vehicle in the parking lot of Trader’s Lane, 1951 N. Black Horse Pike at 2:09 p.m. Brown was alone in the parked vehicle, said police. He was arrested without incident.

Timothy R. Rutecki, 33, the other escapee, was arrested  Monday, Jan. 12 in Franklin Township during a motor vehicle stop.

Both men are back in state custody.

WOODBURY — Pierce T. Rogg, 23, of Grand Rapids, Mich., was sentenced Friday, Jan. 16, to serve seven years in the state’s Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel after pleading guilty to endangering the  welfare of a child.

Rogg was arrested March 14 by a Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office detective and charged with improperly touching a child under 13 while working as a live-in nanny in a Deptford residence, authorities said.

He was jailed In default of $75,000 bail.

Rogg pleaded guilty on June 20, waiving his right to have the case presented to a grand jury, said authorities.

In an evaluation at the facility for sex offenders in Avenel, Bogg was determined to have repetitive and compulsive tendencies, qualifying him for specialized treatment under the New Jersey Sex Offender Act, authorities said.

WESTVILLE — A National Park man has been charged in connection with the theft of a vehicle on Jan. 14.

Daniel Kaighn was nabbed by Gloucester City police and turned over to Westville officers. Kaighn was charged with theft of a motor vehicles, theft of movable property and criminal mischief, police said.

Follow-up investigations resulted in additional charges of burglary and criminal trespassing, and other pending charges in other jurisdictions.

Kaighn was lodged in the Salem County Jail in default of $15,000 bail, said police.

The case was investigated by Ptl. Matt Umba and Detective John Massing.

LOGAN TWP.

— On Jan. 8, police charged a 28-year-old Newark, Del. woman with simple assault following a disturbance at a business on Arlington Boulevard. She was processed and released.

— On Jan. 10, officers charged a 26-year-old Logan Township man with criminal mischief following a disturbance on Logan Lane. While investigating the incident, officers learned the an was wanted on several Camden County warrants and was an NCIC hit from Burlington County. He was committed to the Salem County Jail to await transfer to Burlington County.

WOODBURY — John W. Fryberger Jr., listed as #1 on the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department, was arrested Jan.8 by Philadelphia police.

After an investigation by detectives from the Sheriff’s Department showed that Fryberger had moved out of state and was in the city, his address was forwarded to Philadelphia police, authorities said.

Fryberger was arrested on five outstanding warrants and jailed pending extradition to New Jersey, said authorities.

Fryberger was wanted for probation violation, possession of CDS, burglary and theft.

This brings to 95 the total number of fugitives apprehended from the Most Wanted list since it was launched in 2010.

WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — The Gloucester County Improvement Authority (GCIA) and West Deptford Township have entered into a shared services agreement that will help promote economic development and initiatives aimed at attracting new businesses and jobs to West Deptford Township.

The shared services agreement will allow the GCIA provide to West Deptford with technical and marketing assistance related to the achievement of redevelopment goals and objectives.  Under New Jersey law, county Improvement Authorities are empowered to undertake economic development projects on behalf of local units of government, including municipalities.
