HARRISON TWP. — At 5:46 p.m. on Friday, June 5, Harrison Township Police were dispatched to the Fulton Bank at 153 Bridgeton Pike for a report of an armed robbery.

A white male approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall and of average build, wearing a black hat, white long-sleeved shirt, and black pants and sun glasses entered the front door of the bank, police said.

Willingboro man charged with arson in Chestnut Lane apartment fire in Deptford

WOODBURY — Christopher M. Long, 31, of Willingboro, has been arrested on charges of setting a fire in the Chestnut Lane Apartments on Delsea Drive in Deptford on 2/1/15 that reached three alarms and damaged 17 units.

Accompanied by his attorney, Long turned himself in at the Deptford Township police department on June 3 and was jailed in default of $150,000 bail.  The arresting officer was Deptford Detective Michael Pardini.  
 
Long is charged with aggravated arson “by starting a fire in the bedroom area of apartment 1405, causing widespread damage to over 10 apartments, causing more than $2,000 of damage,” according to the complaint against him.

WOODBURY — Duane N. Johns, 28, of Paulsboro, was found guilty by a jury Thursday of possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute when police and a SWAT team entered a Jefferson Street residence on April 4, 2014.

Johns, who did not live at the Jefferson Street residence, was found in a bathroom with a woman, Turquoise M. Paige, 26, of Paulsboro. Five other people also were in the house.

In the toilet of the bathroom where Johns was located were plastic bags of suspected marijuana. Also in the bathroom was a cloth Crown Royal bag containing 17 glass vials of suspected marijuana. Additional bags of marijuana were found in a sewer trap leading from the house. More than 100 unused plastic bags similar to those in the toilet were found on a dining room table.

NATIONAL PARK  — Residents and visitors are invited to come and learn about the Battle of Red Bank (Fort Mercer) archaeology project on Saturday, June 20 from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. at Red Bank Battlefield Park.

Gloucester County was awarded an American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) grant to investigate the history and archaeology of Fort Mercer. John Milner Associates, the historical archaeology firm performing the study, will lead the public day.

PITMAN —A woman reported missing from her Pitman home since May 31 was located and is safe, police said.

Patricia A. Esola was believed to have left her apartment after having a spat with a relative. She reportedly had been acting peculiar in recent days, said police,

An anonymous tip was received Wednesday — sparked, police believe, by media reports about the missing woman — which led police to Esola's whereabouts. Police didn't say where she was, or why.

WOODBURY — A Gloucester County grand jury the week of June 1 indicted the following people:

— Mamadu S. Sowe, 46, of Bronx, N.Y., for theft of credit cards, wrongful impersonation by obtaining or using another’s ID and receiving stolen property in East Greenwich on March 3.

— Terri L. Ryan, 33, of Williamstown, for resisting arrest and two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer in Deptford on Jan. 9.

5/25:  A Bridgeport resident reported that someone entered his detached garage and stole an extension ladder, ladder jack, fishing poles and other construction equipment valued in excess of $2,000.  Police have identified a person of interest and are investigating.

WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — Here’s a list of arrests and other incidents since May 31 as reported by the West Deptford Township police.

On 5.31.2015, Bianca D. Woodard, 21, of Philadelphia was arrested for shoplifting at the WaWa on Crown Point Road. She was issued a summons and released pending further court action.

On 5.31.2015, Luis N. Vaquez, 35, of Camden, was arrested for simple assault on Tatum Street. He satisfied bail requirements and was released pending further court action.

On 5.31.2015, Deborah A. Sowers, 48, of West Deptford, was arrested on Delaware Street for possession of CDS and outstanding warrants. She satisfied bail requirements and was released pending further court action.

CLAYTON — Gloucester County Freeholders announced that the county will hold its 10th Annual BIG Shredding Event on Saturday, June 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon sharp at the Gloucester County Government Complex, 1200 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, “Last year a record amount of documents were brought by residents to be safely disposed of at this event.  Shredding old documents that contain personal information is one of the best ways to decrease the chances of having your identity stolen.”
